The Simplest Command, The Hardest To Do
📖 John 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, that you love [one another].

It's the simplest thing to say, but it's the hardest thing to [do].

The whole entirety of the Bible, but it can come down to [Jesus] loves you.

How much did Jesus love you and me and everyone else? The answer is he loved you to [death].

  • When have you found it hardest to love someone the way Jesus commanded? What made it so difficult?
  • How does knowing that Jesus loves you 'to death' change the way you see your own value and worth today?
Day 2 · ▶ 15:0917:04
Jesus Showed Us Love Through His Suffering

He went through all the pains and heartbreaks and sorrows of this [world].

There is no pain, no heartbreak, no sorrow, no loss, no addiction, no physical pain that Jesus does not [understand] because he took it all for us on that cross.

It's not just to love Jesus, but to love your friend, your brother, your [enemy].

Instead of a word of hate, a word of anger, show [love] to do the extra thing, to go the extra mile.

  • What pain or heartbreak are you facing right now that Jesus fully understands because He experienced it too?
  • Who is the 'enemy' in your life that God might be calling you to love today?
Day 3 · ▶ 17:0418:48
Letting Go To Love Forward

I will show the tough love that says you can't [hurt] me anymore.

But also for us that we take the things in our lives that hold us back, the anger that hurts the pain, the hate. And we let go and we let [God].

Do you get mad at the world or do you get up going, thank you God I'm [alive].

Where can I make the decision not to hate but to [love]?

  • What anger, hurt, or pain do you need to 'let go and let God' handle today?
  • How can you start your day tomorrow with gratitude for being alive, and where might God be calling you to show love?
